This review was made based on my experience playing on a Ryzen 5 3600, 16GBs of ram and a RX 6600, be mindful that my experience can differ from yours depending on the hardware.
Amnesia is a NSFW visual novel game about a random guy that lost his memory and has to figure out what happened to him. In order to find clues to solve this mystery he has to come back to his house and sexually harass all of his female roommates and his landlady. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, this game contains a lot of non-consensual touching of female bodies, watching women take baths, stealing panties and a lot of somnophilia related content.
Questions you might have if you're interested in playing it
What is it exactly that you do in this game?
It’s a NSFW VN, you read walls of text, sometimes the story stops in order for you to make a choice and sometimes the game asks you to explore a location in order to find a random item to solve a puzzle or just to progress the story. Despite of what I said earlier, this game never forces you to be a creep, you have to decide how far you want to go with your sexual harassment and something that I like is that the story will react accordingly.
Will it make my eyes bleed?
It looks surprisingly good. The models look really nice with high res textures, their faces look natural and don’t fall into the common problem of other NSFW 3D games to be way too uncanny to be enjoyable. The textures are high-res, the environments are detailed and the animations for the sex scenes are made with care and love. The jiggle physics are fantastic.
Does it have a good story?
The premise is not that original, the characters are bland and the grammar of the game is a bit weird. But it’s not terrible, the whole story is an excuse for you to be as big a creep as you want.
Does it have a good soundtrack?
It's fine. What matters for a good soundtrack of a game is to enhance the gameplay and the story. The OST for this game kind of does that, but not particularly well. The best thing that I can say about it is that it didn’t annoy me but I don’t like it. Again it’s fine.
Does it have replay value?
You can replay the NSFW scenes from a menu in the title screen, there is also a “morality system” with different outcomes and new scenes for you to unlock. There are multiple endings and some collectables. So it has some replay value.
Does it run well?
I haven’t experienced a single technical issue, frame drop, stutter or crash.
Is it fun?
For what it is, it’s fun enough. Your enjoyment of this game is going to depend on your tolerance for click and point trappings and how hot you think the NSFW parts of the game are. I hated the parts where the game asks you to find something. It’s true that this game has a “quest log” but man, the levels are not intuitive at all and there were a couple of doors that were barely noticeable over the background. It’s fun if you don’t mind those parts.
Is this game worth my hard earned money?
I’m very mixed about this game. On one hand the NSFW bits are fantastic, one of the best that I have ever reviewed and I really like that this game really lets you choose your own path with multiple endings and secret scenes… but the story is generic and I really hated those “find X item” sections. Normally I don’t complain about this stuff in other NSFW VN games but it feels like bad filler and it's just annoying.
I would like to mention that it feels bad when a NSFW VN game ask money for a walkthrough guide of the game. I get that the devs want to make money, but when you do that on an early access game, it feels greedy.
Rating: 5/10
Good but sometimes it is a chore to play.
