Being a DIK Season 2

Updated: Jan 25

So, The Long Story Continues…

The ending of Season 1 felt abrupt & kinda incomplete. They obviously built up hype for their next season through season 1's ending. They were eagerly waiting for Season 2. Dr. PinkCake finally noticed our desperation & released the next season. Well, now we’re patiently waiting for season 3.

About This Game

Storyline

Season two continues the same adventure at Burgmeister & Royce but with longer episodes. According to developers, a single playthrough of this season alone might take 12-16 hours. That’s pretty long when compared to season 1. But well, if you rush through it, you can finish it faster.

This game states the events that involve Hell Week, upcoming midterms & the Halloween party planning. Since it’s a story-intensive game, I can’t talk about the storyline a lot since everything I say might be a spoiler. I recommend playing the game to know the plot by yourself.

Unlike season 1, the second season takes us deeper into the past & shows us that every choice we make has a major consequence. The story is a lot more engaging with a lot of decision-making involved. You will meet a diverse range of people, from bimbos & sports jocks to those serious bookworms, that you would usually expect to meet at a college.

The plot is way more than love & sex. It showcases deeper topics like the importance of relationships with family & friends. The story is more like a drama with sex scenes here & there. There is so much character development. I am pretty sure that you will get emotionally attached to at least one character. After playing the first part, I figured out that Dr. PinkCake was pretty good at writing amazing stories for his games. He just one-upped himself with the release of Season 2.

Gameplay Mechanics

The core gameplay is pretty much the same as season 1. They did add some new mini-games & other features, but everything else is pretty much the same. As per their store page, these are the new stuff that’s added to the base game with this DLC:

  • An engaging story that picks off from where season 1 ended.

  • 14000 new static pictures & over 900 animated scenes.

  • 129 new sounds.

  • 58 special 2D art pieces.

  • A handful of lewd scenes with various girls.

  • New mini-games & features.

After all, season 2 is a DLC. So it’s obvious that the core mechanics stay the same. If you wanna know more about this game’s mechanics, I recommend reading the gameplay segment of my review on the first season.

Visuals & Audio

Again, the visuals and aural part of the game have the same quality as the previous season. They’re still amazing & a feast to both our eyes & ears. The new characters have outstanding designs & details. The animated scenes are still very intimate & pretty hot. I am sure the devs will never fail in this segment. It would be cooler if they added Voice overs/narrations for the dialogues so it would give the game a movie-like feel. I mean, reading text for 12+ hours can be a pretty tiring job, I’d rather listen to the dialogues!

Pros

  • A more deep & engaging story that continues the events from season 1.

  • It adds a lot of new content like more mini-games, more scenes, more achievements, etc.

  • This season is a bit longer than the first. It lasts about 12-16 hours.

  • The visuals & audio works are still amazing!

Cons

Again, I haven’t found any flaws in this game that affected my playthrough. It’s pretty much flawless. Your experience may differ though.

Conclusion

This season filled in the gaps that season 1 left. Now I need a season 3 to fill in the gaps that season 2 gave me. Overall, this game offers a very fun & immersive experience. The storyline is well constructed & the characters actually have personality. I, obviously, recommend getting this DLC. It is worth its base price since it offers a lot of content.
