Projekt: Passion Season 1

Updated: Apr 5

This review was made based on my experience playing on a Ryzen 7 7700x, 32GBs of ram and a RX 6800 xt, be mindful that my experience can differ from yours depending on the hardware.

Projekt: Passion - Season 1 (PPS1) is a NSFW visual novel that tells the adventures and misadventures of a nameless mercenary/bounty hunter from a distant future. Be aware that the target audience for this game is straight males and if you don’t like watching alien/demonic/robot girls undress, don’t bother with this game.

Questions you might have if you're interested in playing it

  • What is it exactly that you do in this game?

Like in most NSFW visual novels you click on stuff, read dialogue, make decisions over random choices that can sometimes pop-out on the screen… and obviously you watch NSFW short videos. This game has a somewhat serviceable choice system with some fake options that will result on a “you died” screen, thankfully PPS1 has a generous checkpoint system that lets you freely pick the wrong option without making you lose any time.

  • Will it make my eyes bleed?

For NSFW visual novels on steam, this is looks fairly decent. The models look somewhat generic but they don’t look uncanny or weird like in most of the cheap NSFW visual novels on steam. The background scenes don’t look terrible but I can’t say that they impressed me. The two things that separate this game from most NSFW VN games on steam it’s the well animated SFW and NSFW cinematic that PPS1 has. They are well animated, with decent voice acting and great cinematography, this alone are worth the price of admission alone. The NSFW bits are amazing short animated loops that run at 60FPS and have great jiggle physics with well animated poses.

  • Does it have a good story?

I love the story and characters of this game. The characters are funny, charming and well written. The story is not necessarily something original or mind blowingly “great” but it’s serviceable, complements the characters very well and gives you a lot of lore and world building. This is one of those one in a million games, you can tell that the devs really cared for it.

  • Does it have a good soundtrack?

It’s fine. Like most NSFW VN out there, it uses royalty free music but it isn’t intrusive or annoying; and I would even dare to say that sometimes I enjoyed it as it complemented game’s story. Good job!

  • Does it have replay value?

Besides some optional scenes that you can unlock with the occasional dialogue option…. Not much… I’m fairly sure that you can pretty much unlock all the scenes on a single playthrough.

  • Does it run well?

It runs flawlessly. There is not much else to say. It’s a game that is not very demanding and I didn’t have any problems with it.

  • Is it fun?

It’s fine, your enjoyment is going to depend on how much you like how the characters look and their personality. The humor may be a factor here too. I will have to admit that this game resonated very well with me and I really enjoyed playing it. So it gets a “it’s fun” from me.

Is this game worth my hard earned money?

This is easily one of the best NSFW games that I have ever played, the characters and the story are fun and interesting. The beautifully animated cinematics are a treat and elevate this game, the voice acting is serviceable but charming and almost all the NSFW bits are “enticing” and well animated. At the time of writing this review, this game hasn’t come out officially on steam and the devs informed me that they are going to charge around $10-ish for it. I would say that for that price this game is a steal and easily one of the best NSFW games out there.

Rating: 8/10 = Very fun and charming
