People Surely Go to College for the Girls
University Days takes you into the life of a college student who’s seemingly landed in a bizarre version of university life where there’s no shortage of beautiful women vying for his attention. It’s a visual novel, packed with sexual content, romance, and a whole lot of drama (if we can even call it that). With ten episodes, each representing a day at this not-so-average university, you’ll be navigating through some fairly predictable, but nonetheless steamy, scenarios. The big question is: who will catch your eye, and who will you end up with?
About This Game
Storyline
The story in University Days is, well, pretty basic. You’re the new guy in town, just starting your first year at university. Right off the bat, you realise that this isn’t your typical college experience—everywhere you turn, there’s another beautiful woman seemingly ready to fall for you. From hot students to seductive professors, the game throws a variety of love interests your way, each with their own quirks and backstories.
But here’s the thing: the narrative feels more like a thin excuse to shuffle from one sexual encounter to the next. Sure, you’ve got a girlfriend, but don’t worry! The game conveniently gives you an “open” relationship so you can go on guilt-free romps with just about every woman you meet. It’s less about building real connections and more about rushing through the motions to get to the next scene. The game tries to pepper in some backstory for each love interest, but at the end of the day, it feels like just a setup for the inevitable hookup rather than any deep emotional development.
For a visual novel, you’d expect a little more focus on storytelling, right? Unfortunately, that’s not really the case here. The plot mostly just hangs on the premise of "here’s another hot girl, now go and sleep with her." It lacks that build-up and anticipation that could have made it more engaging. If you're hoping for a complex narrative or meaningful choices, this might not be your cup of tea.
Gameplay Mechanics
When it comes to gameplay, it’s about as straightforward as it gets. University Days is a kinetic visual novel, which means it’s almost entirely linear. The choices you make are minimal, so don’t expect to have much control over the story. It’s essentially a “click through the dialogue and wait for the next scene” kind of experience. While this might work for some, it leaves little room for replayability or engaging decision-making.
There are also a few mini-games sprinkled throughout, but let’s be honest—they’re more of a chore than a challenge. You’ve got some object-finding tasks that feel like filler rather than fun. Toward the end of Season 1, there’s a sandbox-style party scene where you can explore and complete tasks to hook up with the girls, but even that’s pretty limited. The pacing can be frustrating too, with dialogue popping up slowly, even at the fastest setting, which makes the whole experience feel sluggish.
Visuals & Audio
Visually, University Days does a decent job. The character models are nicely rendered, with all the women looking, well, as hot as you’d expect in a game like this. There’s a clear focus on making the characters visually appealing, but the backgrounds? Not so much. They’re pretty generic and don’t add much to the immersion, especially if you’ve played other visual novels—they’ll feel like something you’ve seen a million times before.
As for the audio, it’s… fine. There’s nothing particularly memorable here, but it does the job. One thing that’s missing, though, is sound effects during the sex scenes, which might leave some players feeling like something’s lacking. A little more attention to audio could have really added to the atmosphere.
Pros
Solid character renders, with plenty of eye candy if that’s your thing.
The variety of love interests means there’s someone for everyone (or several, in this case).
Some decent mini-games toward the end, though few and far between.
Cons
Barebones storyline that exists mostly to string together sex scenes.
Lack of meaningful choices makes it feel like you’re just along for the ride.
Tedious mini-games and slow dialogue pacing can be frustrating.
Many sexual scenes are static and cut off abruptly, with only a few being fully animated.
The backgrounds are bland and don’t do much for the atmosphere.
Conclusion
University Days - Season 1 is very much what it promises: a light, sexualized visual novel that doesn’t take itself too seriously. If you’re here for the story, you might want to look elsewhere, because this game is really all about the adult content. It’s a fun, mindless experience if that’s what you’re in the mood for, but the lack of buildup, repetitive story beats, and minimal interactivity might leave you wanting more. Still, if you're just looking to enjoy some steamy scenes with decent visuals, this might be worth picking up on sale. For now, though, it feels more like a game still finding its feet.
Rating: 5.5/10 (It’s barely recommended as they do give you what they promise, sex scenes with women)
