Westview Academy

Updated: Feb 15

This review was made based on my experience playing on a Ryzen 7 7700x, 32GBs of ram and a RX 6800 xt, be mindful that my experience can differ from yours depending on the hardware.

Westview Academy (WA) is an early access NSFW visual novel game that tells the story of a young adult and his sexy adventures and misadventures through college. Be aware that this game’s targeted audience is straight males.

Questions you might have if you're interested in playing it

  • What is it exactly that you do in this game?

It’s a visual novel where you click on stuff, read dialogue, make decisions over random choices which may sometimes pop-out on the screen and you obviously have your sex scenes, but most of the time you don’t have any input as a player. WA has some minigames that can thankfully be skipped if you find them annoying or intrusive. As for annoying minigames in NSFW visual novels, the ones present on this game aren’t that bad but I highly recommend you to skip them anyways, it will improve your experience.

  • Will it make my eyes bleed?

It is surprisingly good looking. The character models and backgrounds are above average for NSFW visual novel standards. The thing that really lifts this game over the competition are the NSFW and SFW animations. WA knows that for this type of game presentation is everything and they deliver. The NSFW scenes are well animated 60 fps smooth animations with plenty of detail. And to be honest that is everything that you should know about this game.

  • Does it have a good story?

WA has a somewhat engaging story. I liked some of the characters and… hell I even cared about some of them and rooted for them. I won't lie to you; I still don’t know if I like it or not because the story is still not fully completed. But from what I have experienced, it comes really close to not being “just an excuse for NSFW scenes”.

  • Does it have a good soundtrack?

It was a nice selection of (hopefully) royalty free music that sometimes made me stop playing the game and enjoy the track. I liked it.

  • Does it have replay value?

A single playthrough of VA will last you around 3 hours and offers multiple options with different outcomes.VA is still unfinished and doesn’t have achievements but you can replay the whole game to unlock different NSFW scenes and replay them in the main menu.

  • Does it run well?

In the 5 hours that I spent on this game I did not encounter a single crash, bug or glitch. It runs flawlessly.

  • Is it fun?

This game goes to some dark places that I’m unsure whether I want to be reminded of in my NSFW games… but beyond that, it’s fun enough.

Is this game worth my hard earned money?

In its current unfinished state WA is one of the best NSFW visual novel games that you can buy on Steam. I’m reviewing WA with a pre-release copy and there is still no price tag or release date for it. But I’m going to admit that I liked this game and I think for the 3 chapters that I played and reviewed, you shouldn’t pay more than $15 for it.

Rating: 7/10

It's Good, with lots of potential but obviously unfinished.
